Hey there! I recently started playing CS:GO and it's a great game in terms of weapons and feel. It runs smoothly at 60fps all the time with VSync enabled. If I turn off VSync, I get tearing, and if I pick the Fast option, it doesn't feel as smooth as with VSync. I've tried different drivers but nothing seems to fix it. Other games run perfectly, so I'm wondering what's causing this issue. The game feels very choppy and clunky, especially with its textures. I'm thinking about quitting because of this. Could a CS:GO expert help me troubleshoot? What steps should I take to get it running better? Also, since it's a DX9 game, it's old but shouldn't behave like this. Thanks in advance for your help!

Could you explain which settings apply to which games in different ways? For instance:
CSGO VSync ON produces result X.
CSGO VSync OFF yields result X.
Another game's VSync ON results in Y.
Another game's VSync OFF also gives Y.

what does "fast option" refer to? if the tearing appears choppy, simply switch vsync off again.

In vsync section of nvpanel where you change vsync there is adaptive also theres Fast when I got my 1060 that showed up,,,,  and its nasty,,,,,
I play all games the same.  Nvpanel settings all set to On and set to MAX and high quality AA AF blah blah.  In game all settings are maxed out on Unreal Tournament alpha and Quake Champions and they run smooth like butter..... Oh and 1080p resolution with vsync on and triple buffering on.  looking around the map is soo jittery, the frame rate is good at 60fps locked but just moving around looking around textures are jerky,,,I don't know how else to explain it better.

Occasionally you might experience stuttering that isn't shown in your FPS number. It seems you're pushing the game too hard, perhaps with settings like leaf appearance, shadows, or particle effects.

But it runs at 60fps and never drops below 60fps ,,,,,, This is CS:GO DX9 game,,How am I pushing it too hard,  I play Quake Champions a DX11 game with my nv panel all maxed out and on, and in game to ultra max settings everything... and UT alpha and Q run perfectly.  Gives me 60fps and never drops in either game.  Now your telling me to dial down settings on CS:GO with a old old engine and DX9 for what ?  Im already getting 60fps with vsync on,, and 110 fps with vsync off.  This is not a frame rate problem,, the graphics and mouse movement and textures are jerky and not smooth like Q and UT and other games I play.

Honestly, when I replied I wasn’t considering the point about CSGO. I’m not very familiar with it, just trying to pass on what I know and maybe assist you a little.

It was a good post my friend, thank you. It's just strange how a simple DX9 game runs poorly and jerky. DX11 games seem smooth as silk. I know CS:GO is played professionally, so maybe this issue can be fixed, but I'm not sure what to do. Also, I set my nvpanel to all default settings, which makes things look bad. I turned on vsync, and the GPU usage is very low—around 55 to 70 percent at most—but it drops and fluctuates. If I disable vsync, the GPU usage reaches its maximum, and I get about 110 frames per second while walking around in the map. Sighs.

I found the solution by adjusting the settings at nvpanel. I set the maximum pre-rendered frames to 4 instead of the default 1. Now the game runs smoothly, just like my other games. You all appreciate how I changed it to 4 and the performance improved significantly.
