I'm setting up a PC for light gaming like Rocket League, CS:GO, and possibly Battlefield 4. Most focus on a strong CPU, a decent GPU, and around 8 GB of RAM. You mentioned options such as an R7 370 or GTX 750 Ti alongside an i5 6500, or an i5 6400 with a GTX 950. For 1280x1024 in CS:GO and lower resolutions, balancing CPU and GPU performance makes sense. Your choice will depend on your budget and priorities.

Are you interested in playing Battlefield? It's a possibility, mainly for CS:GO and Battlefield. Share your budget and I'll suggest someone who can assist you.

If you're considering an I5, I'd recommend opting for an R9 480... as long as one is available. Your current system handles most games with an I3, so I'd suggest upgrading to an I3-6100, 8GB DDR4 (make sure it's a DDR4 MOBO) and a 950 or AMD 370. Rocket League and CS:GO should work well at 1080p, and Battlefield should run fine without pushing maximum settings.

I’ll try Battlefield 4 on my PC. If it costs more than $600, I’m okay with a lower price.

I’d opt for the i5 to be on the safer side, though the i3 could handle it particularly if you’re targeting lower than 1920x1080 resolution. At 1080p it may face some challenges with the i3.

Opt for a lower-end CPU and allocate the surplus budget to a GPU. This is just my take.
