Hello everyone, I’m writing to inquire about the frame rates I should anticipate while playing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. My display resolution is 1440x1080 with a 4:3 stretched aspect ratio. My graphics settings are primarily set to low, with MSAA at 8x and enhanced via the NVIDIA control panel at 8x supersample. I’m currently experiencing frame rates in the range of 200 to 300, although I’ve observed others achieving rates as high as 300 to 400, and even exceeding 500 fps under identical specifications. My system configuration includes an Intel Core i7-7700k running at its default clock speed, an MSI GeForce GTX 1070 graphics card, and 16GB of Corsair Lpx RAM operating at a speed of 3200mhz.

Would you require a frame rate exceeding 200 to 300 frames per second? I achieve approximately 250 frames within the game using a Ryzen 7 2700X and an RTX 2070. My monitor’s refresh rate is sufficient at 144 frames per second, and further increases beyond that offer little noticeable improvement.

If you enter “fps_max 0” in the game console, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive will limit its frames per second to 300 by default.

Is a greater frame rate than 200-300 frames per second necessary? I typically achieve approximately 250 frames per second while playing, utilizing a Ryzen 7 2700x and an RTX 2070. My monitor’s refresh rate is sufficient at 144 frames per second, and further increases beyond that offer little discernible difference.

Unlike many games, the game’s engine is linked to frames per second; consequently, an increased FPS leads to a more fluid experience and quicker response speeds.

however, if you possess a 60 hertz display, would it truly be relevant?

If you disable vertical synchronization, your display will still render the latest image at its maximum speed, based on its response time rather than its refresh rate.
