I might need a complicated setup that includes... a third screen. In monitor settings you can position the third display above or below your first and second screens in the right place. When you start the game with a 4:3 format it seems to make space between the first and second screens, but the second stays fixed as it no longer has to move toward the first while connecting with the third. For instance on my desktop: switching from a 3440x1440 display to a 2560x1440 game.
You've created the reg_dword file but it isn't functioning as expected. Please check the file creation process and ensure it's saved correctly.
