I used to play CounterStrike Source a lot. Now I’m interested in getting back into CS:GO and heard about Bhopping. What does it really mean? And why are some people saying they scripted something on YouTube?

You can master the hop without any scripts, just by jumping quicker than running while carrying your knife.

It’s a method to advance faster across the map. Cheaters rely on a Bhop script, which lets them start moving instantly and take control quickly. This creates a significant issue for players because they can reach advantageous positions much sooner, while you might be walking slowly and a cheater could be waiting in the pit. Here’s a simple illustration of it.

The video you watched introduces bhopping as a concept. You can find more information at the official site: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KYEyIGLRqW0

Using air bursts boosts speed, while rapid jumps maintain it.

I was young, and every match felt like a simple 1 kill 99 deaths. I still recall the excitement of people jumping around.

It offers a quicker method for navigating the map. Discover it on your own without relying on scripts or even trying to do it.

Being able to hop without cheating is definitely one of the toughest skills to develop. I'm decent at games and pick up new things quickly, but it still took me nearly a month of practice to consistently manage just a few jumps. Check out some tutorials, then try playing offline and see how it goes. Consistent effort really makes a difference.
