Dude, stretching the image affects how your mouse feels. Making the mouse movement seem more responsive horizontally changes the target size, but because the screen is stretched, it becomes harder to land accurately. The best results are with the original resolution and aspect ratio.

Many experts rely on the original implementation from CS 1.6 for its monitor scaling approach, and they’re accustomed to it, making any shift back challenging.
