Ideally (at least for my preference), they should develop a game with a broader, open environment while keeping the suit mechanics from Crysis 2. Frankly, this would likely deliver the most enjoyable gaming experience if Crysis 3 materializes. I find the cumbersome nature of the suit in Crysis and Warhead somewhat detrimental to gameplay; it simply feels like my abilities are restricted and I'm not able to adapt quickly enough.

However, I also spent my formative years playing first-person shooters that were significantly faster than modern titles, which might explain some of my dissatisfaction with the deliberate pace of the Crysis suit’s operations. The suit felt more intuitive to me in Crysis 2, and I believe I could utilize it more effectively if such a system truly existed—I wouldn't want to waste time navigating menus or performing multiple button presses.

What I appreciated most about the original Crysis was its gameplay speed. It felt invigorating when compared to Crysis and Duty: SQUID in New York.

The mouse-switching mechanic in the initial game felt exceptionally well-designed. With skill, it became automatic, almost instinctive—similar to a natural reaction.

Crysis exhibited immediate responsiveness to directional input. It resembled piloting a high-performance sports vehicle; although mastering the gear changes required some effort, achieving fluency allowed for maneuvers unattainable within Crysis 2.

Consequently, I find Crysis 2 challenging – they’ve transformed the operator into a sluggish figure. The absence of a “speed” mode, a key tactical advantage from the first game, is particularly frustrating. Pressing "jump" introduces an unacceptable lag (due to their decision to link power activation with button press timing), and eliminating advanced movement features like leaning and prone was a significant oversight. Any competitive FPS should incorporate these movements to enhance stealth gameplay.

Prone had to go for Crysis 2 because they were trying to build a legit multiplayer aspect of the game. Couldn't have had prone position in a game that already had stealth, or there would have been non-stop camping beyond anything you see in a call of duty game.
Really hated the middle mouse system. Utilizing the extra button push was fine but the arbitrary mouse movement afterward... lol thank god they didn't try to turn Crysis 1 into a multiplayer game, and Wars was to be frank a flop. That control setup is just way too clunky. Could have had such a better experience if they'd just made all of the suit functions hotkeyable without that even more horrendous double tap crap lol.
On an unrelated note, Stringjam: you recommended Shift 2 to me back when I was looking to get back into racing games. Enjoyed it a lot, and ended up grabbing Dirt 2 and Dirt 3 which are both an absolute blast. I'm sure you've played them both, but if not, they are really good with wheel+pedals if you set the wheel light. Lots of high degree whips.

While I'm uncertain regarding Crysis 1, it’s confirmed that Warhead features suit customization shortcuts; they can be activated through the game’s settings.
