Cryengine incorporates ray tracing support for both AMD and non-RTX graphics cards.
Neon Noir was built using a specialized version of CRYENGINE 5.5., and its experimental ray tracing, based on CRYENGINE’s Total Illumination, allows the demo to function without relying on specific APIs or hardware. This approach ensures ray tracing works across most modern AMD and NVIDIA graphics cards. Looking ahead, the integration of this technology will be improved to take advantage of newer graphics cards and supported APIs such as Vulkan and DX12.
can we get a summary of this before the thread gets blocked/deleted? like i see the video of it and its sorta neat... but well, also, it seems like its lower FPS than it should be... and this probably took a ton of time to optimize for the AMD GPU To render this...
He claims to have impressive eyes and wonders why the framerate seems lower than expected. He mentions owning an RTX 2080 Ti, one of the earliest models, highlighting its impressive capabilities. He emphasizes that possessing such hardware doesn't obligate anyone to support NVIDIA, advocating for a more balanced gaming experience for everyone, not just AMD or NVIDIA. He also speculates on the potential cost of an RTX 2080 Ti if AMD hadn't entered the GPU market.
Please note that the demo was executed on a VEGA 56 at 4K resolution.
