The installation is using more space than expected because of large files or unnecessary data on disk C. Checking for hidden files or optimizing storage might help.

Use DiskPart via your bootable USB or installation media to remove partitions. Restart the fresh setup again. If unsuccessful, create a minimal Windows 11 version (Tiny 11) tailored to your needs, eliminating unnecessary software before installing your preferred OS.

Check the disk information using Disk Manager under Management. It should show the size correctly. If not, it might be a different operating system or a Windows issue.

Never rely on this mess—it’s completely ruined and just there to make the setup as simple as possible for Windows 11.

I tried the instructions you provided, but the problem still continues. Did you overlook something? I didn’t realize Windows was running on a virtual drive—two 256GB drives in RAID1.

I identified the issue with WinDirStat. Two system files, hibernation and page file, are consuming excessive space. What steps can be taken to fix this?

Hiberfil.sys will occupy around 40% of the system's total RAM. You can shrink its size by enabling hibernation in Windows. I'm assuming you're using Windows 10, though a link to the Windows 11 guide is provided in the article. https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/2859...ext=Enable or Disable Hibernate in Windows 10,longer show in the Power menu. Regarding Pagefile.sys, its size is also based on total RAM and managed automatically between 1.5 to 4 times the system's RAM. You can adjust it manually, but I wouldn't suggest doing so. https://computerinfobits.com/adjust-page...indows-10/
