That's great! Everything seemed fine with my extensions until Chrome asked for new permissions this morning. I didn’t notice anything odd, and after checking, disabling Chrometana resolved the issue. It’s worth noting that Chrometana usually handles Cortana and Bing searches by redirecting them to Google.
I successfully removed Cortana. It worked, though I had to be creative to get it off the system. After deleting her, the issue with the search bar in the Start menu remains unresolved.
The feedback mentions concerns about potential malware installation during the update process. It expresses disappointment that Google permits such activity.
It's strange—it worked well until this morning. A real disappointment.
They had their account hacked, and a new version was released containing malicious software.
