I've experienced this problem before with the game on my PC. Now it displays an error when attempting to launch. I've adjusted the compatibility options, updated my graphics card, and checked other settings. It shows 'No Video' and can't start because it doesn't recognize my graphics card. This is similar to issues I've seen with older Harry Potter titles, but my Steam games are functioning normally. What should I do?

you might be missing some required libraries for starting this game
by the way, is it on a CD/DVD? if yes, safedisk won't work in windows 8
you'll need windows xp or earlier to run the game from a CD/DVD, or you can bypass the DRM
if you manage to overcome the DRM protection under windows 8 or never, then you should also edit the default.ini file and change RenderDevice=D3DDrv.D3DRenderDevice to RenderDevice=OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice
