Could you clarify what you mean by "road map"? Are you referring to a specific plan, strategy, or something else? That way I can better assess its feasibility.

Not feasible, right? ISP → Modem → Firewall/Router → Switch → Servers/Computers etc.

The project manager is unsure about the meaning of "road map" in this context. It seems to refer to a network layout rather than a simple sequence. I believe it would look something like ISP>Modem>Firewall>Router>Server... I’m unfamiliar with dedicated firewall devices, so I’m not sure how practical it would be to position the firewall before or after the router. It makes sense that the firewall should be set up as early as possible for traffic filtering, but I’m unclear about IP assignments from the modem if the router isn’t immediately following it. Could it be possible to allocate multiple IPs from the ISP—one for the firewall (if applicable) and another for the router? Also, why would a non-router server be placed before a router? It might be because of a specific system like a phone network that requires its own IP before the main router. Chat GPT is helpful, but you should verify the information from a reliable source.
