It's really annoying when I post a question seeking advice, but the response ends up being taken over or ignored, and no meaningful conversation happens about my original request.

I provided you with a thorough and detailed response as much as possible, and I’m sure that’s a fair reward for the small issue. Please feel free to ask if you have any questions about us.

It's just an all too common occurrence.
I agree.
Most people here help others genuinely, even if it's just on a voluntary basis.
There are many behind-the-scenes efforts to stop Tom from falling into the chaos that many websites become.
Keep in mind (for everyone) that members—especially regular ones—come from diverse backgrounds, languages, education, and experiences.
Don't rush to conclusions. Think about the bigger picture.
Errors and misunderstandings happen.
Start fresh.
I’d really like to see this thread follow a clear, objective process that offers real possibilities regarding the needs mentioned.
Suggestions would be welcome, but we don’t need to debate the inevitable compromises.
I’m certain if honest, objective options are provided (even different ones), @Geoff Leven will be able to evaluate and make informed decisions about what’s needed.
My next question: what is the budget for new parts?
Go.
