Hi everyone
I've been using my gaming PC for ten years now, originally built in 2014 with all the features available back then. I've upgraded the graphics card a few times, which has definitely helped prolong its life. My current setup includes an i7 4770k, RTX 3070, 16GB DDR3 RAM, an ASUS Maximus Formula VI motherboard, and a 750W power supply unit. Over the past decade it's been running smoothly, but in the last couple of years its age has become more obvious, and I'm planning to replace it soon. I haven't paid much attention to the latest component trends, so I really value any advice from someone with more experience in PC builds. Apart from swapping the 3070 for a new one, I'll invest heavily in hardware so the new system could last me close to ten years.

New build idea:
ASUS ROG STRIX Z790-H
Corsair RM1000x 1000W PSU
i9 14900k
RTX 3070 (I'll use my old GPU for now, it still has plenty of life left)
Lian Li Galahad 2 AIO cooler
2x G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB 32GB DDR5-7200 RAM
Samsung NVME 990 Pro 2TB SSD
Fractal Design North case

What are your thoughts? Could this configuration keep up with me for a decade?
EDIT: I should note I use a 2k Gigabyte ultrawide monitor.

You're considering a budget of up to $2500 and are from Denmark.

A few things. The 14900K works best with a 420 AIO (360 at the least) and that Fractal North case isn't really meant for a water cooling setup. If using air cooling I would look at a locked i7. Same amount of P-cores as the i9 and four less E-cores and those E-cores don't really do much for gaming. It's possible to make this build more expensive by changing the motherboard but this motherboard has pretty much all the latest and greatest features: PCIe 5.0 for both graphics card and SSD and a 4080 audio codec. You could change the cpu cooler to a Deepcool AK620 Dark if you wanted better aesthetics. That 120mm fan goes inside the back of that case for an exhaust fan.

Quick question about AMD. I haven't used it since the early 2000s—how do they perform now in terms of lasting quality? I've been using Intel since my Core 2 Duo time, and I'm impressed by their performance and support over the years. Is AMD similar in this regard?

I'm a dedicated Intel and Nvidia enthusiast from the C2D era. AMD has managed to optimize cache usage without increasing power or heat. Intel remains the top choice for productivity and streaming, though the 7800X3D CPU still outperforms in gaming.

Hey! I wasn't aware of that. Mostly I play games on my desktop, sometimes I do Photoshop or Illustrator when working from home and lose track of my laptop, but my old computer was more than capable of handling it.
I'll follow up with what I decide later. Thanks again for your advice to both of you.
