Created a duplicate of the boot drive, encountered boot failure.
I've created a cloned Windows 10 boot drive on NVMe (512GB WD SN730) and expanded storage on a larger 2TB Crucial P3. I used AOMEI PA Pro with a valid license and successfully made a new partition for extra space. After installation, I encountered a Windows boot error 0xc000000e during the laptop startup. The BIOS shows the drive as bootable, but it still fails to start. This is unusual since the disk appears functional. Here are some suggestions: check the drive health with a tool like CrystalDiskInfo, verify the boot sector is intact, ensure no corrupted files exist, and try formatting the drive with a fresh partition. If issues persist, consider reinstalling the OS from a clean image.
I bought that Crucial P3 drive from Amazon, but they had a lot of fake or low-quality batches. I’ve since swapped them all for WD blue SN570 drives, which cost a bit more but offer better reliability.
On Amazon... The product appears authentic in France. I verified it with CrystalDiskInfo and used it as a data drive by copying 400GB of files for 30 minutes.
It seems the device might still have issues. Have you attempted to start from the previous drive? There could be other reasons such as a failed cloning process or Windows treating your SSD as the boot device but not recognizing it, possibly due to a Secure Boot issue. Best of luck.
