Create New Guidance for Excel and Photo Enhancement?
Create New Guidance for Excel and Photo Enhancement?
I have shared this information multiple times while attempting to build a system suited for handling large Excel spreadsheets, charting tasks, and limited Photoshop editing. Through these attempts and further research, I’ve reached a stage where I’m almost ready to consider purchasing it. Before investing several thousand dollars, I value your feedback, however minor it may seem, to ensure I make an informed decision.
The storage requirements are as follows:
- 1 TB NVMe drive – OS and program files
- 2 TB NVMe drive – Excel files plus a substantial music library
- 2 TB NVMe drive – photo files
- 2 TB SSD – real-time backup of the first NVMe drive
- 2 TB SSD – real-time backup of the second NVMe drive
The LianLi I/O accessory will include additional USB ports positioned near the front (see the link for details).
Hardware specifics:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7700X, 4.5 GHz, 8-core processor ($271.00 on Amazon)
- CPU cooler: Thermalright RK120 SE 66.17 CFM ($32.90 on Amazon)
- Motherboard: MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI ATX AM5 ($179.99 on Amazon)

Please share any criticisms you might have, no matter how small they seem, before committing such a significant investment.
It seems you're asking about clarifying the term "real time backup." You also want to emphasize the importance of having a backup that is separate from the current system.
I also have a tool that regularly performs backups. What I believe is configured for hourly backups is actually set to backup every hour. Now it backs up to external hard drives, and I still use iDrive for offline access. Thanks for the reply.
Do you have any other ideas? I'd love to hear your thoughts and suggestions for the build.

Why waste time with countless sticks?
I’d choose a RAID card supporting M.2 slots—essentially PCIe bridges from host to N M.2 drives. Insert two 4TB or 8TB sticks, arrange them in RAID-1, and you’re set.
Even better, go for RAID-5 using four sticks.
Avoid the hassle of automated copying and other complexities.
These additional M.2 sticks on MoBo are linked via a South Bridge chip, causing bandwidth conflicts with other devices.
It's clear that using "RAID" in any form isn't an ideal backup strategy, is it?
Here are some alternatives you can consider.
This option offers additional USB ports.
You should also check the available USB ports and a "C" in the product details.
At first glance, it seems to be around $140, but I'm not certain if this provides any performance advantages.
Please let me know if you need further clarification.
