It basically turned into a bunch of unnecessary features and clunky elements, like lots of useless potions and annoying mobs. I don’t feel like compiling a detailed list anymore.
The new launcher makes it simple to move between the latest release and every version from pre-alpha up to now. A lot of me shares your thoughts—I don’t like how Minecraft has changed since around 1.0. As someone who adopts mid-alpha, I often play on alpha and beta builds.
