This was a challenging task with the available tools, but it should work fine once done.
Then I lost interest in filing metal and chose to skip making a finished cover, so I installed the CPU directly onto the motherboard:
^(I still can't believe how great the motherboard looks)
...and it works perfectly!!!!
Next steps: prepare the case holes and continue building

Yeah, it might have been a better choice, but I went for angular holes instead of round ones. Never mind, it's already done, I'll share some photos once the mesh covers are attached to the case.

Now I almost have the fan grills installed on the case. I drilled the holes, counter sunk them, and verified that the case still slides together. Here’s what it will look like once more C/S bolts and brass dome nuts arrive:

I have everything inside the case, and the orange finish still looks fine.
Cable management was a challenge—after roughly an hour, I managed to wrap the PSU cable bundle around the top of the case so it doesn’t obstruct airflow.
I’m expecting an order to add lighting, hoping for a striking red glow from the fan grills and the front holes. I also plan to replace the current Molex to SATA power adapter on the DVD drive with a black branded one.
The positive news is: everything functions properly. My RAID 1 array is set up, Debian is installed on the M.2 SSD, and even without the lid open, temperatures remain within acceptable limits.
👍
So far everything is going well
😀
