Hi,
I am looking forward to moving from 1080p to 1440p 144fps gaming (not competitive, but still enjoying the 144fps smoothness), after a long time of no major upgrades, I want to upgrade. I know it is gonna cost me initially, but I expect no further big investments for several years ahead.
Approximate Purchase Date:
December 2025 - June 2026
Budget Range:
3000 USD
System Usage from Most to Least Important:
Gaming, Movies, usual daily non perfmormance tasks
Are you buying a monitor:
Yes
Parts to Upgrade:
everything
Do you need to buy OS:
No
Preferred Website(s) for Parts:
----
Location:
Europe - Czech Republic
Parts Preferences:
nvidia cards prefered
Overclocking:
Maybe
Multiple GPUs:
no
Your Monitor Resolution:
2560x1440
Additional Comments:
I do not care about looks of the components and I can manage some noise. playing mostly Battlefield 6, GTA 6 when released, possibly a MMORPG title
And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading:
upgrading to 1440p high fps gaming future proof gaming, current rig is 11400f and rtx 4060 ddr4 3600mhz rams full hd screen
my idea:
Monitor: 27" ASUS TUF Gaming VG27AQL3A
Case: Be quiet! SILENT BASE 802 Black
Motherboard: MSI MAG B850 TOMAHAWK MAX WIFI or ASUS TUF GAMING X870-PLUS WIFI
PSU: I guess any 900-1000w gold/platinum evga, corsair, seasonic shall be fine. GIGABYTE AORUS ELITE P1000W 80+ Platinum Modular PCIe 5.0 or Seasonic Focus GX-1000 ATX 3.1
CPU: ryzen 7 9800X3D
CPU cooler: Artic Liquid Freezer 3 360mm or NZXT Kraken 360mm
RAM: Kingston FURY 32GB KIT DDR5 6000MT/s CL30 Beast Black EXPO or G.SKILL 32GB KIT DDR5 6000MHz CL30 Trident Z5 NEO (depends on motherboard approved rams)
SSD: Samsung 990 Pro 2tb
GPU: either rtx 5070 or 5080, 5080 morelikely for futureproofing ? MSI RTX 5080 16g Ventus 3X OC PLUS , 5070vs5080 is big money difference in my country, if 5070 was enough for 1440 high fps gaming, I would go 5070 route

I got overly excited and bought it, completely unnecessary but it might hold up for years without use—maybe a RAM upgrade or a new AIO if the pump fails. Otherwise, nothing. Thanks for your advice. Just wait for GTA 6 to launch on the battlefield 6 and next year!
