Create a persistent Ubuntu installation via Linux Live USB developer tool.
I started from the flash drive after using the program. Why do I notice the "Install Ubuntu" button? I assumed it was already installed on the USB and remained active. Is this a persistent version of Ubuntu? Has it been installed before? Should I skip the installation prompt and just run it like a live CD? Is that what I’m seeing?
You downloaded the source for installing Ubuntu. You might want to create a lasting copy for future use. Edited May 12, 2019 by noxdeouroboros
A live image is designed to start from and test the operating system without altering anything on your computer. If you find it useful, you can later install the OS properly, which is why the "Install Ubunut" icon appears on a live USB. Creating a live USB with lasting storage ensures your modifications remain after each reboot (you must usually enable this setting). In practice, a live boot behaves identically to a regular OS installation. It's best not to rely on a flash drive as your primary operating system drive. If you prefer, proceed with the full installation.
