Crashing
Hi, I'm not sure if I'm in the right section, but my concern seems to be about the GPU. Over the last month, my computer has been experiencing blue screen errors. Initially, I thought it was due to disk management issues because I had two operating systems on the same SSD. At that time, I used a custom OS and believed it was just a glitch. It would occur once a week. However, in the past two days, the situation changed to a complete black screen, with both monitors going dark and the GPU fan reaching maximum speed. I suspect this might be related to the GPU fan, though I wasn't certain. This has happened at least ten times today, with the most recent one right after a factory reset, installation, and launching Minecraft. I've tried several fixes without success: deleting both systems, performing a factory reset via USB, and using the official Windows OS version 1909. My specs include an Intel Core i7 7700, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti, Z170-Gaming K3-CF motherboard, Samsung SSD 870 EVO 500GB.
Have you observed any unusual artifacts recently, such as strange color blocks on the screen? Try connecting your display directly to the motherboard and removing the GPU. If the issue persists, it’s unlikely to be the GPU itself. Please share the BSOD error codes so we can better identify the problem.
I haven't seen anything similar and I can't share the error code because the screen just turns all black now—it's not a blue screen anymore.
The crash details are available in the System event log (accessible via Event Viewer). BugCheck logs include the bugcode, parameters, and dump file location on the General tab. Kernel-Power logs provide the code and parameters within the EventData section of the Details tab.
