My recent setup experience: Shortly after assembling my new computer (listed specs below), I faced several power interruptions. Around 4 to 5 times, the house power didn’t meet the demands of my new 1000W PSU. Eventually, my LAN connection failed completely, prompting a trip to the store where they replaced my motherboard. Since then, I’ve avoided running multiple devices at once and haven’t had another outage. The first issue surfaced during gaming—my PC restarted unexpectedly, but no blue screen appeared and no error messages showed up. The Windows Reliability History indicates: - Should I update my BIOS? A RMA product might require a BIOS update, but I’m unsure if it’s necessary. - My headphones made a strange noise when I frequently switched tabs in games. At first it seemed harmless, only occurring during alt-tabs. However, while playing Escape From Tarkov, the noise became frequent and lasted about five minutes. The screen would stutter whenever it played. *Apologies for these repeated problems—I wondered if the blue screen and the buzzing sound were connected. My system: Windows 10 Pro 64bit, Z790 DDR5 MSI, Tomahawk BIOS (dated H.00, 21/09/2022).* I’ve checked online and found: - Is a BIOS update required? - Should I worry about XMP settings or file collection issues? - The Perfmon log shows a stuck report at 60 seconds, yet the file exists in the registry. *Please assist, thank you for your help!* Edit: It’s 1 a.m.—I’ll reply as soon as I’m awake. The 1000W power supply isn't important for overloading your circuit. What matters is how much power your build actually uses. In fact, using a higher wattage PSU might actually reduce consumption since you're more likely to operate near its efficient range under load. I'm not sure about this lately—back then I didn't use alt-tab in games, but it would freeze the game briefly when switching priorities, causing audio loops. Probably not connected to that. Have you performed a fresh Windows installation after replacing the motherboard? One of those power outages might have damaged the SSD.

Hello! No need to reinstall Windows, is that really required? Regarding the occasional stutter I experienced in games, it's the first time this has happened—I only noticed it when switching tabs. The stutter and buzzing noises were limited to that situation.

It's hard to predict, but I'm concerned about unexpected power cuts. You might want to try reinstalling all drivers first, see if that resolves the issue. If you have a BIOS update available, installing it could help eliminate another potential problem.

The problem has been resolved by updating the BIOS, applying all latest MMO drivers, and then reverting the AMD driver to version 22.11.2 (this rollback ultimately fixed the issue).
