Prices for components shift slowly across generations. Many people observe that a newer model like the Ryzen 1700 X can be priced higher than an older one such as the Ryzen 2700 X, which once cost between $50 and $70. The gap isn’t always large, but over time it tends to widen.

I’d see it as a single shop possibly two, but it covers many locations. It also fails to clarify why an 1700 with an overclockable CPU is cheaper than a similar model at other stores.

They might increase the costs once more if the price of the cheaper option drops, but we can only be sure by contacting the person who established those rates.

I personally don’t mind upgrading to a quicker processor at a lower cost than expected. I’m just curious whether something happened that led to higher prices for older models, similar to how graphics cards were affected by Bitcoin.
