CPU voltage ?
When using any second-hand device, you lack knowledge about its condition. With such outdated hardware, electromigration could have occurred, possibly from overclocking or regular use. I increased the speed of an Athlon II X4 620 from 2.8MHz to 3.25GHz for six years. Afterward, it became unstable, so I turned off the overclock.
If you plan to keep using the FX-6300, look for a big heatsink or fan on eBay. However, shipping heavy items can raise costs significantly, making a new cooler on Amazon more affordable. Ensure the part is compatible with AM3.
When my video editing rig stopped working unexpectedly (after many hours of transcoding), I resolved it by capping GPU power at 95% using MSI Afterburner. The CPU is running with default BIOS settings (no PBO). The GPU works fine in Furmark but fails in Topaz Video AI. This might just be an Nvidia issue.
If your FX-6300 voltage adjustment resolves the problem and you’re satisfied, there’s little further action needed.
Some useful aspects. The ASrock motherboard and the FX 4300 were a combination I purchased from eBay around six years ago, and I also used them. The FX 6300 appears to be in excellent condition; it's clean and the pins are straight. I plan to stick with it since it works well, and if it remains stable, it will last until I acquire another PC. It’s nice that there’s a solution that lets you encode videos; unfortunately, my rig doesn’t have a GPU, so performance is sufficient for playing YouTube videos at 1080p without stuttering. The built-in ATI Radeon 3000 doesn’t provide any boost, which is something I won’t change. I’ll get a new PC soon. Thanks for the conversation.
