It varies, really. Make sure background tasks aren’t hogging the CPU. With an I5-4440, you should be able to push your CPU usage quite high in Fortnite 4.

It was designed for full performance, but during gameplay the system may drop in power since the CPU won’t handle the load as well.

It's totally typical for a CPU to feel more pressure when loading and less while playing.
