I own a Phenom II X4 960T stock with GTS 450, and during gameplay of Cod4 I experience low CPU usage while the GPU is active. The motherboard seems inadequate for handling the CPU load if I upgrade it. Currently, I’m playing Cod series mostly at 250 FPS with occasional drops.

the question asks why someone would prefer a CPU under higher load, but the context does not provide enough information to explain that reasoning clearly.

Absolutely, you're solid. For better performance, consider upgrading the graphics card.

Yes, it means the GPU is more powerful than the CPU.

Yeah, it means the GPU is actually more powerful than the CPU, right? I thought so. Your CPU doesn’t seem to be working too hard to match the graphics card’s performance. Have you looked at the GPU usage versus the CPU usage?

The GPU is running at full capacity while the CPU is operating between 60 and 66 percent.

High CPU load at 100% with minimal GPU strain, using 2GB RAM without lag.

Ilijas Ramic shared his thoughts: the GPU is at full capacity, while the CPU is running between 60 and 66. It matches what I expected. This pattern suggests the GPU can deliver its maximum performance, giving you room for the CPU to operate efficiently. You can upgrade your graphics card without worrying about a CPU bottleneck. Usually, it's better to keep the CPU usage lower, but if the GPU hits 100%, it's acceptable. Personally, I don't like seeing my CPU at full speed while playing.

How about using Slide to help with the issue when you're low on cash?
