Sorry for sharing this online or unsure if it's correct. This is my first time asking about my PC. I have a question regarding my CPU temperatures. I re-applied thermal paste and spread it evenly using the spreader included with my cooler. I also used my own thermal paste (HY510) since I can't afford better options yet, as I'm helping cover household expenses. Additionally, I applied paste from the air cooler's kit (Jungle Leopard AF401-DGT digital display CPU tower cooler), but it kept reaching 50°C without opening anything. I was not sure about spreading it evenly at that time. I monitor temperatures via BIOS, the digital display on my air cooler, and Core Temp. My room doesn’t have an AC; I rely on the fan for ventilation and the breeze from outside because it’s on the upper floor, making it feel like an air-cooled space. Are my temps around 50°C acceptable? Any advice would be appreciated.
idle times don't really give much value, right? When you launch programs your temperature rises because the processor uses more power. It might not be worth keeping the cooler running until you have real work, which can cause sudden spikes in heat. But it's not always needed. If you gradually increase the workload and reach high 80s, that could become an issue.
When performance stays within limits, other factors become irrelevant and it's acceptable
Hello, thank you for the update. It's a Ryzen 5 5500. I didn't change its speed settings. The temperature here in the Philippines is really high in the morning but it still works fine. At night, without an air conditioner, I depend on my fan to keep the mosquitoes away and let the wind in for a cooler room.
Investigate the CPU's performance limits. This gives you assurance instead of relying on guesses from random people.
