He should consider a CPU like the i5-10400F or similar with a 3300X socket for better performance. With his existing i7-5700K and RX 5700, the upgrade will likely boost gaming and multitasking without hitting a bottleneck.

Budget around 200 for CPU and motherboard. If yes, the only thing visible working is 8100/390z, but you should still be fine on RAM.

Consider a used 8700/8700k or a B450/B550 with 3300x instead of an A520. It would be best if reviews confirm they perform well.

you could either get a 9400f or sell the current board and cpu and check if getting a 3100/3300x with a decent b450 board like a pro 4 is possible. if the 9400f upgrade would cost way less then that wont be a bad upgrade, or you could go with a used 8700 which would be a really good upgrade. um.. it's h370. I’d sell the present board and CPU as a 9400f, which is having trouble running games and isn’t promising for the future. Then upgrade to a Ryzen 3300X paired with a solid B450 or B550 board.

It looks like most people agree to sell the current board and processor and move to a 3300x. I believe we should go with that. Thanks for all your support.
