I just finished setting up my computer. I kept everything stock and used a stock air cooler. Recently, I played a game and MSI afterburner reported my CPU temperature near 100°C! Checking the CPU monitor showed around 95°C. Looking at the screenshots I shared, I see different readings from the three monitors—MSI afterburner, CPU monitor, and Ryzen Master. What tool should I use to track CPU temps effectively?

Left side displays MSI afterburner with CPU temperature at 53°C. Middle shows Ryzen Master at 44°C. Right side CPD monitor shows 44°C, while package node reads 54°C. You're just starting out—try checking these areas to understand what you're seeing.

The best software for Zen includes Ryzen Master and HWiNFO. Verify your BIOS is up to date, install the newest chipset drivers, avoid overclocking or overvolting, and ensure the cooler is properly secured.

Certainly helpful tips exist. Verify the active profile in the BIOS, and if your motherboard includes AI features, they might be responsible for the issue.

The BIOS is already current, as the board was assembled on April 20, 2020. All recent drivers are up-to-date and no overclocking has been applied. The next plan is to install an aio cooler.

Check the MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon for AI features and BIOS profile options. Look for specific settings or menus that indicate available profiles.

Ensure the cooler is securely installed and verify the BIOS settings aren’t configured for PBO enabled or similar options.

The PBO feature isn't active. It seems you might want to reinstall your cooler. Appreciate the input!

You might consider testing it in the OC section above M-Bios. I haven't personally owned an MSI board, but I know Asus ones well.
