Hello everyone, I hope you're all doing well and safe from whatever's happening around. I have a couple of questions for you. Here’s a summary of my concerns: My system runs an Intel i9-9900k with an Asus ROG Ryujin 360mm cooler. At idle, the CPU temperatures look a bit high. One game I’ve been playing is "NFS - Payback," and I’ve noticed the temps can spike to around 160-170°F. I checked the BIOS but didn’t find any options to adjust the Noctua fans that come with the Ryujin. Besides tweaking fan speeds, I removed the cooler, cleaned it, and reapplied thermal paste. Even after that, the temperature stayed the same. Could you help me understand if these readings are normal? What’s the highest temperature the processor can safely reach under load?
Operating around 30-40°C is quite comfortable. Your peak temperatures during gaming seem acceptable, though I’d like to log sessions to understand your typical averages while using a 360mm AIO. With that setup, staying under about 75°C is reasonable. An average over 80°C might be a bit high for a 360mm AIO, but it’s not dangerous. Temperatures near 90°C could lead to thermal throttling, and hitting 100°C would likely trigger the CPU’s safety shutdown to prevent damage. You’re still well within safe limits.
