I built my initial PC using a Ryzen 9 7900X, RTX 4070, and other components. The setup was complete, but during the first boot I noticed steady temperatures around 74°C in BIOS. I suspected an issue with the thermal paste application and adjusted it, then repositioned the cooler, which now maintains a stable 84°C. I mounted the radiator carefully, using fans for intake and exhaust. CHATGPT mentioned hot air rising might be the problem, but I’m unsure if that’s significant enough. The temperatures didn’t improve even when I pressed the cooler buttons, suggesting another factor is at play. I’m trying to figure out how to safely install Windows without risking damage while the system is still running at 84°C. I’ve attached some photos for reference.

You took off the label from the mounting plate. The cooling compound appears as a dark gray substance when you take out the water block.

Adjust your radiator fans to push air outward rather than drawing it in, allowing hot air to escape and be replaced by cooler air. Side fans should push air inward for effective cooling. Monitor temperatures under load, not just at idle, using tools like HWMonitor to track real-time readings while the system runs. Let me know how it goes.

So it's 84c already while still in the bios? i'm going on a limb here, but it's most likely a mounting issue. Either too loose or too tight. Try to lay the case to it's side so the motherboard would lay flat. Then remove the block and just turn it on without it. Go to the bios and check the temps(don't worry, it won't do anything bad to your cpu. Then take, cpu block and gently press it to the cpu without screwing it. Slowly apply downward pressure, making sure not pressing too much. While pressing, check if the temp drop to 50-70c. If it does, turn it off and screw it in, but just hand tight it and don't use a screw driver. If the temps does not change, then either check the cpu or AIO, by testing and replacing them, one at a time. Well if you have a spare that is.
