I just assembled a new PC. It has a Tuf x570 Plus with a Ryzen 9 3900x. The cooling solution is an H80i V2, which comes from an older machine. I replaced its internal components and it was functioning properly before. After installing all the drivers, I checked the temperatures to confirm everything was normal. Initially, my temps were around 50°C, dropping to 40°C, then rising again to 50°C. Corsair Link reported the fan stopping, but that stopped after that. [Video link provided].

Note: I noticed in the future that core temperature displays all cores at their maximum possible temp (possibly), while Corsair Link only shows a couple of cores at high temps during gaming (around 80°C) while the rest stay lower (39-60°C).

Second note: My Ryzen 3900x was running at about 3600GHz, but I can't tell if that's when the spike happened. Since then, temperatures have increased significantly. Without any games running, it's fluctuating between 65-55°C with a 10°C jump back to 65. I'm already experiencing stutters or stoppages while playing at high quality, so the temperature issue seems to be causing problems.

this cooler shouldn't handle a stock 3900x processor well—it's a high-performance CPU. the clock speed during gaming is usually around 3.5–4.0 GHz, and with Ryzen Master you can monitor temperatures. spikes are normal when idle but should not occur under load.

Temperatures are fine and with this 120 AIO model it performs excellently. For accurate monitoring, use Hwinfo to track temperatures for Ryzen components. If readings match, run a full-core stress test such as Cinebench and check temperatures across all cores while using Hwinfo.

It's likely the GPU is reaching its maximum capacity naturally. The high temperatures you experienced suggest it's pushing close to limits. Your best setting in Fortnite was 88°C, which is quite intense.

Occasionally Idling isn't completely idle. When a windows service uses the CPU, temperatures can rise. At 65°C idle, inspect the heatsink attachment.
