Hey everyone, I have an old Foxconn LGA1155 chip with a 4-pin EPS. I'm thinking about swapping the CPU from dual-core to quad-core. Can I install something like a 2600K model inside? Or would I need a lower TDP version? I already have a decent Arctic Top Down cooler on board. Thanks!
Great feedback, yes the mobile model won't overclock much but the 2600 non-K version is priced similarly on eBay, so I’ll grab whatever I find. They released a 2600 with lower TDP (65W vs 95W), but it’s less common and commands a higher price. Since it’s 95W, it should work fine. The PSU you mentioned is a solid quiet 400W unit.
