Hey, I see your laptop is having some unusual CPU activity. The spikes between 90-100% during gaming are concerning. You mentioned using a Lenovo Legion Y520 with Intel Core i7-7700HQ, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, and other specs. It’s been three years now, but you’ve noticed these spikes even when playing games or streaming. I checked for malware, ran a virus scan, did a clean Windows reinstall, changed the thermal paste, and still didn’t see improvement. You’re wondering if others have faced similar issues and found fixes. Any insights or experiences could help?

Capture the Task Manager screenshot during the problem. Both the main and performance tabs are open on Windows. Have you performed Windows memory diagnostics? Have you reached out to Lenovo support?

Here’s a revised version of your message:

I’m having trouble capturing the screen during the peak spike because the CPU usage drops quickly. However, the performance tab shows it reaching full capacity. My Windows is up to date, and I haven’t reached out to Lenovo support yet. I’m not sure how to run a memory diagnostic, so I’ll look it up online.

Same laptop issues again. Probably a Lenovo problem after checking all the options.

Updated the bios to slightly lower CPU usage. Added Windows Defender exceptions for all game and Steam folders.

I made recent updates to my bios but they haven't significantly impacted performance.

Many of the tools I rely on include Exception Windows Defender.
