I've never encountered this situation before. I was replacing my AIO to switch to a Ryzen 5 3600. My AIO had my CPU stuck in place, and it came out easily when the locking arm was lowered. What should I do?

Be extra cautious when using PGA CPUs. Reinstall them and check if the system functions properly. I've heard problems like POST failures, BSODs on Windows, and inconsistent overclocking after previous stability. If it looks good, you're safe.

Never force too much when trying to remove the CPU with the retention arm down. If it’s very difficult, gently rock the heatsink back and forth before pulling. Once removed, use pliers to grip it tightly or place it in a vice and twist the cooler to break the seal. You should be able to take it off. If not, a flathead screwdriver can help loosen it. Given how new the CPU is, are you certain you applied thermal paste rather than adhesive?
