Does anyone know if and when CPU prices will finally drop? About a month ago the 5800X was as low as ~£235 but has been at £285 for the past couple of weeks.. Will prices drop more when Intel releases? If anything the price seems to be going up…

Expectations suggest prices won't fall much beyond what's left in inventory, especially if AMD and the seller acted perfectly. Low prices usually occur just before a major announcement, as sellers aim to clear stock quickly in case the new model becomes the next big thing. If it doesn't, prices may rise again. As anticipated, AMD isn't matching competitors' pricing strategies and isn't planning to undercut older products. Currently, sellers have no incentive to maintain such low prices.
