I attempted to boost my new PC's performance by overclocking. After checking online and watching tutorials, I set the CPU to 4.9Ghz on all cores using my i7-9700k. I expected a higher speed, but noticed the clock slowed down during gameplay. When switching to Call of Duty: Cold War, everything worked smoothly at those speeds. However, Valorant caused a sudden drop to 4.7Ghz everywhere, even when the game was off. Since Intel C-state is turned off in BIOS, I’m unsure what’s causing the issue. My system has 16GB DDR4 memory, a 3600mhz CPU, and a Ryzen 9 3900X. I’m not very experienced with this stuff and want to figure out why it’s not working as expected.
