I recently finished assembling my first PC, collected all the components, and put it together. It didn’t work as expected; I thought the power supply unit was defective. After replacing it, the system started up normally. However, there’s an issue—when I power it on, the CPU overheats rapidly, staying around 90 degrees. Installing Windows without a warning is causing problems. Usually the warning appears about 15 seconds after boot, indicating a quick overheating response. I’ve checked fans and confirmed they were functioning, verified thermal paste application, and ensured there was enough material. Still, I’m puzzled. Anyone have any insights?
The only remaining items are the paste and the cooler. Is the paste applied uniformly? Are the fans operating correctly? If everything seems fine, the temperature sensor on the CPU or motherboard could be faulty and require a return merchandise authorization for repair.
