Hello everyone,
In the past week my computer would unexpectedly power off while handling several tasks, possibly due to multiple applications running or gaming. I also started receiving warnings about CPU overheating after restarting. Now my PC shuts down very quickly. I tried adjusting the case fans but it didn’t help. I’ve also re-thernalized the CPU to the AIO cooler, though that didn’t resolve the problem.
I’ve been using this system since April 2021 without any problems. My setup includes:
AMD Ryzen 9 5900X
Lian Li Galahad 360mm AIO CPU Cooler (Silver)
ASUS ROG Strix X570-F Gaming Motherboard
Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32GB (2x16GB) at 3600MHz CL18 DDR4
ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 3080 OC 10GB
Other fans and drives are in place.
Removing the AIO causes the PC to stay on for only about 20 seconds. If I keep the AIO active, I can sometimes get up to 1 or 2 minutes before shutting down.
Any help identifying the issue would be really appreciated!

Consider getting a larger air cooler or borrowing one instead of buying. It might help with overheating problems.

I’ve experienced a similar problem with my system. Check if the radiator feels cold to the touch but the pump block and one tube are hot. If so, return the cooler for replacement.
I will definitely check around for an air cooler to try out.
I quickly rechecked the PC, one tube felt cool while the other was noticeably warmer—like it was pulling away heat. The pump block was warm but not extreme. The radiator wasn’t cold, but it stayed cool thanks to the fans drawing in the air.
The CPU was extremely hot; I almost dropped my finger on it and nearly lost a print 😆

This refers to a return authorization for merchandise. If your AIO comes with a warranty, the brand will handle the replacement. You may also need a video or photos to support your claim, along with proof of purchase to communicate with the seller or Lian-Li directly about the possibility of replacing the cooler.
If you don’t have a warranty on your cooler...well, if your overheating problem can be fixed using an air cooler borrowed from someone else, you’ll know what to replace.
Uncertain whether the statement refers to running your system without a cooler for 20 seconds, though this could be problematic; using a CPU cooling solution would be advisable.
It all comes down to what you already have at home. If you plan to purchase something, opt for this one instead.

This cooler can effectively lower your CPU temperature permanently. It should help resolve the problem while you check if the AIO can be replaced under warranty.
If the new cooler doesn’t work, it might indicate a more serious issue such as a faulty CPU.
Never power up the machine without ensuring the CPU cooler is properly tightened. Simply squeezing with your hand isn't enough; it must be securely fastened to the board with thermal paste applied. From your comments, it seems you're handling the CPU while it runs (which can only happen without a cooler), or perhaps you're just resting the AIO pump block on the CPU and are puzzled by the crashes after a short time.
get another aio depending where you are from deepcool is a good brand and i've been using it with a 5900x. however, i've also set my cpu's voltage because these cpus keep hitting 1.5v and above. i had to apply a negative offset of 0.17500 to bring the voltage down to around 1.3v to 1.35v without much performance loss. air cooling doesn't work well with these cpus under heavy load—they get very hot, especially when they have 8 cores. at 12 and beyond, 1.5v air cooling can't handle the concentrated heat for long, which is why i've tried using three 8-heatpipe coolers to test it.
Report that the AIO cooler has experienced issues, but it's not the first one to fail. All 360 AIO units should suffice for that CPU.
