CPU Overheating
CPU Overheating
Checked online forums but didn’t find matching issues. Processor overheats during gameplay until shutdown. Temperatures exceed 100°C according to HWMonitor. Thought it was the AIO pump on my Corsair H100i v2 since the radiator felt cool and only one tube was warm. Strange fact: after resetting CPU clock speeds back to default, system functioned normally. Played Shadow of War for about an hour with temperatures staying between 50-60°C. The next day I tried increasing clock speeds slightly, but the system idled at 60, briefly reached 90s during startup, then stayed in 90-100s while trying to launch the game. Even lowering speeds didn’t improve performance. It’s odd that everything works under different settings.
System specs: i5-6600K @ 4.5GHz OC, 3.9 stock RAM, 16GB, Asus Ranger VIII, Corsair RM650i, PSU Corsair H100i v2, AIO cooler. Used Core Temp for verification. I’m prepared to replace the H100i if it breaks under new settings, possibly needing a better cooler.

I don't like AIOs. They fail in certain ways. Verify your pump is working and the cooler is properly installed with quality paste. If everything checks out already, consider returning it. It might help to start with that first, especially if the warm hose sounds off.
