CPU Overclocking Problem
CPU Overclocking Problem
Hello,
I attempted to overclock my system but after saving and exiting BIOS the machine restarts with a black screen and all GPU fans running at full speed. I adjusted various parameters such as multiplier, Vcore, input voltage, and clock speeds, but none of these changes resolved the issue. The GPU behaves abnormally even when I modify CPU settings. Resetting the CMOS works fine, allowing normal booting. In stock conditions, temperatures are 30/50 for CPU and 45/70 for GPU. It never fails to crash in stock only during CPU overclock attempts.
I'm seeking guidance on what might be causing this behavior. Thanks!

Try using 2 ram sticks in slot 2 and 4 for overclocking.
Did you try to bump up voltage for ram up to 1.65V (if it has heatsink).
Thanks for the tips. I think I figured it out. There is a small UEFI/Legacy button on the graphics card that when I pressed it started up with the overclock. However when fine tuning the overclock the PC crashed during a stress test and it kicked back into the high fan mode with black screen..clicking the button on and off again fixed it though.. Thanks again for your help!
Verify that the PCIE clock remains at 100MHz – it shouldn't auto-adjust. For ASRock's BIOS, I found these configurations that seem to work. I changed the BCLK frequency from auto to 100mhz and set the BCLK/PCIE ratio to 1 instead of letting it auto. Even after making just those changes without overclocking, my PC still boots into a black screen and the GPU fans reach maximum speed. Could you suggest any additional steps? Thanks!
