Cpu Overclock Error
Cpu Overclock Error
I just purchased a g3258 with an h81m-c and want to overclock for better performance. I watched a video on YouTube and followed the same steps. After overclocking, my PC shows a blue screen, while my two friends with the same CPU and motherboard don’t. I adjusted the voltage to stabilize it, but the video suggests setting it at 1.345, whereas I think it should be around 1.475 for normal operation. My temperatures are very high (85+). Any advice?
A superior cooler always makes a great starting point for overclocking. !475 represents a significant increase in voltage. Have you applied a fresh, high-quality thermal paste in a very thin layer? Arctic silver is widely used. A small ball, about 1/4" in diameter, centered on the CPU should suffice. It's wise to check the fans and coolers your friends are using first.
