I have a 3900x on an Asus TUF B450M Pro. People often say it's not ideal for such a powerful CPU, but I don’t play games—just work with music production. My concern is that the CPU core voltage comes out around 1.47 at startup, which seems excessive. Is there a standard setting I can change to fix this? I’m also looking for general guidance without aiming for overclocking.

It should be possible to adjust the voltage manually, around 1.27V or slightly lower for regular speeds. For stock performance, a bit less is better. If that doesn’t work, increasing it a bit is acceptable, though the value you mention is clearly too high. You’ll need to switch the CPU voltage from “Auto” to “Manual” and then input your chosen level. Some recommend adding an offset, but setting it directly without an offset also functions.

Clearing or resetting the BIOS would require redoing it, but that's essentially the end of the matter.

I've seen this discussion before, and according to JaysTwoCents, the idle rate shouldn't be that high. I shared his video with a specific time, and he mentioned PBO is meant for situations requiring real boosts. So you're wondering if it's typical to sit at 1.5 during idle?

You're likely correct about that, until I adjusted mine manually (2700x - X470 Tachi Ultimate). It would have increased too much, so setting it by hand fixed the issue and it performs much better now. It seems like just boosting and increasing voltage was the solution. If the original poster doesn't really need that high (probably not), I'd lower it slightly and be done.
