There are also GTX 980 cards around $400 sometimes, especially with a 4th-gen 6-core chip inside, offering good value compared to similar performance systems like the 5500X at about $300.
They have six cores yet no hardware acceleration, which means they often lag in modern games and get choppy. It's an unusual situation where an older Xeon model runs smoothly without stuttering, even though it’s quite outdated now. In contrast, a 9600k would likely offer better average frames but the overall experience would still be disappointing.
It seems the setup isn't using HT. I believe I'm facing an issue with this PC. It was purchased very affordably. It includes 24GB DDR3 RAM, a Xeon W3670 processor, an RX 570 graphics card, a 512GB Samsung SSD, a 1TB WD Blue drive, an Asus monitor at 75Hz, a Logitech keyboard, and other components. I only spent around $250.
W3680 offers the same features as the 980X Extreme but often comes at a lower price. You can boost the multiplier for speeds up to 4000 MHz or 4133 MHz on the T3500. Adjusting the turbo TDP/TDC allows full utilization across all six cores, though voltage tweaks aren't available. Performance gains are significant but not as pronounced as with the W3670. This change may not justify the cost.
