the cpu i have is an intel i7 12700kf which claims 4800mt/s bandwidth. the ram you're considering is corsair vengeance ddr5 cmh32gx5m2b5200c40, running at 5200mhz. your motherboard is asus tuf gaming b760m-plus with wifi support and can handle ram speeds above 7200mhz. the main point is understanding the difference between mt/s and mhz—mt/s measures data transfer rate while mhz indicates memory frequency. for optimal performance, match your cpu's bandwidth needs with the ram speed; higher speed ram helps better utilize the cpu's capabilities. choose components that support your system's requirements to ensure smooth operation.

You might want to check other CPUs that fit your budget better. Also, the case you own only supports ATX motherboards.

CPU confirms RAM compatibility, but the motherboard seems more focused on showcasing its capabilities. Your memory is underperforming, though—it’s a 5200 CL40 at its weakest point. Upgrading to something like 6000CL30 would offer better performance. The 6000+ models are worth the investment; the CPU is being cautious since it doesn’t know your specific board.

I’m okay with faster RAM, but I was worried about CPU memory performance. Also, does the CPU only support dual-channel, or can I still install four RAM sticks in total?

4 pieces are dual channel. That’s two pairs. Two equals a pair, four equals two pairs, like this. Don’t focus much on the CPU memory rate.
