Hey everyone, just a quick update: I tested it now and the PC is supplying power to my phone when I charge it via USB. Still nothing for the keyboard or mouse, but the PSU fan started spinning. Since the PSU only kicks in at a certain load, it didn’t spin before, yet it did once and hot air came out.

The PSU can operate partially while still being underpowered, which stops it from posting since it lacks sufficient voltage. Have you received a response yet? Did you follow all the instructions in the guide above? If yes, proceed to test another PSU or motherboard unless otherwise.

Without a PSU tester and without proper tools, attempting to check a PSU can be extremely risky because capacitors may store enough energy to harm you for days, weeks, or even longer.

The situation is similar to what others have mentioned—some PSUs can operate partially. Running a partially functional PSU may damage your system. If you need to verify its performance, affordable testers can confirm whether it provides the right voltages. I’d replace it and if it still fails, return it. Continuing to use it won’t fix the issue or reveal the problem, which can become expensive.
