CPU high temps while gaming
Hello, recently during gameplay in Counter-Strike or Dota 2, my temperatures hovered between 70-88°C with the H110i cooler. Those high readings would be typical if I used a standard cooler. I've verified the pump, fans, and airflow are functioning correctly (the CPU fan isn't showing up since I swapped it for a non-PMW model). This issue has been occurring lately. Could someone assist me? It's really puzzling—I have no clue what might be causing this. Case: Corsair 750D For reference, here are some screenshots.
You haven’t taken the cooler off recently. It looks like it might not be aligned correctly with your CPU, which caused problems before. I remember a similar situation a couple of years ago when I removed mine to reflow the CPU—during setup one of the brackets got stuck on the motherboard, leaving part of the CPU without proper contact.
I created a video on this topic. My H100i v2 had its thermal compound changed right after purchase, which reduced the temperature drop by 20°C. Switching the compound made a difference. Good luck!
