CPU from the 5000 line isn't responding even after BIOS update succeeded
Hello everyone, I'm setting up a PC for a friend and we're using an R5 5600X CPU with a B550I AORUS PRO AX motherboard. I realized the BIOS had to be updated for the CPU to function, so I flashed it first but it still wouldn't post. Then I tried using my old 2700x to test, and it worked. The BIOS even confirms I'm on the latest stable version, F15, but whenever I put the 5600x back in, it fails. If anyone has suggestions or solutions would be great.
Restore the 2700X and update to the latest BIOS version (F17b). Verify it posts with the 2700X again and that BIOS defaults are set properly. Then attempt the 5600X update once more. Was this model purchased new? If it continues to fail, it may be defective.
sorry for the late reply, but heres some update. I updated to F17b, Nothing. I used my 5800x to see if the CPU was the problem, it still didn't post. As of right now I have no clue what the problem might be.
It appears the device is non-functional. You should return it via RMA using your purchase details or contact AMD directly. Have you checked for another motherboard to test the CPU as a final check?
