Hello, I'm starting to assemble a new PC for the first time and need advice on choosing a CPU. I'm looking for one that handles gaming and engineering tasks, so I want something suitable for both. I prefer AMD or Intel and am open to spending up to 700USD, ideally between 500 and 600USD. Thanks a lot! (Sorry for the unclear English, it's not my native language.)

You're aiming for a CPU under $700. What's your overall budget for the PC, including motherboard, cooler, RAM, and power supply? It's usually easier to plan the whole build together rather than splitting costs. Have you already allocated funds for other parts?

I'm starting from zero and planning a budget of about 2000USD. The construction will begin after the CPU is installed as the initial reference point.
