I’m working on assembling a system using parts from Gumtree and eBay. The BIOS shows the CPU fan isn’t detected and the case fan is spinning but not recognized. I have the following components: an i5-4690 from a Dell 9020 SFF, a WD-Green 256GB SSD from the same model, a CPU cooler also from that SFF, and a SUNON case fan (with an attached image). I also have a motherboard from ASUS Z97-K, four 4GB DDR3 RAM sticks from Dell, a case from Gumtree, a 500W power supply from Gumtree, and thermal management parts. I can provide more details about the fans if needed. If you have any suggestions, I’d appreciate trying them out. The fans still aren’t showing up in the BIOS, but I’ve tested a few connections and tried flipping them around.

I experimented with a different method and it is now recognized by the BIOS.

The system detected unauthorized modifications to firmware, operating system, or UEFI drivers. Press [OK] to proceed with the next boot device, or enter BIOS setup directly if no other devices are available. Navigate to BIOS Setup > Advanced > Boot and update the current boot device to a secured option. I’m not sure what to do, but this isn’t connected to anything else.

Yes, the CPU fan is connected to a CHA_FAN header.

Thanks for your message. I attempted this, but it seems the fans might be linked to the Dell OptiPlex hardware. They're running at full speed (4000 RPM) continuously, and they behave strangely if the computer is powered on. It might be worth trying a fresh OS installation to see if that fixes the issue.
